Betterscanning film holders

I've just got a betterscanning film holder for my Epson V500. I've been trying to fiddle around with the adjustable height, but to be honest I can't seem to make much (any) difference.

What are people's experiences with these adjustments, and what adjustment value have you ended up using?

Well I've been through viewing the scans at 100%, and basically anything other than zero turns gives me ever-so-slightly worse scans (more blurry). I guess my scanner will just stay on zero turns then. I see no improvement over the original V500 holder. In fact, I might even prefer the V500 holder.

DN: are you using the MF holder+ ANR glass only or the epson 135 film holder with ANR glass as well?

When I got the Betterscanning holder for my Epson 4990 I sent an e-mail to Doug about whether I should get the adjustable or fixed height. He told me I should do some tests with the normal holder at various heights (using thin cardboard shims) and if there's no improvement I should take the cheaper, fixed height version.
