Hello everyone,

I just received a nice 2/35 biogon in replacement of my summicron-c. That lens is well manufactured and I find it easier to use than my former 40mm. I just been a bit (a lot in fact) disapointed by the cheap lens cap on it. I'm probably thinking to much but i'm affraid to manipulate it as it look like it's very near the front lens. Any experience about putting it on/off your lens ? Should i put a UV filter between cap and glass ?

thanks for advices !

get a 52mm pinch cap with good finger grips. It works if you have the hood on the lens. I was continually frustrated with the tiny Zeiss cap with next to nothing for a finger hold.

I too don't care for the Zeiss 43mm caps. They hang up in the hood and seem to want to pop off, requiring inordinate care when attaching them.

Strangely, the 43mm Voigtlander cap works much better for me even though both outwardly appear very similar.
