Anyone know what the serial number range is for S2s made during 1959?

The Nikon S2 was discontinued when the S3 went into production: early 1958. No S2s would have been made in 1959.

I have occasionally thought about getting a Leica M2 from 1961, my birth year.
However I prefer the cleaner look of the earlier button rewind/no self-timer bodies.

S3s start with 630001. You would have to check Rotoloni's book to get production numbers and the timeline. WES

According to Rotoloni, Nikon produced only 2000 S3s in 1959. If all numbers were used, the 6th batch dated 1/20/1959 would have started around 6308300 and run to 6310301. Hope that helps. WES
