that's funny... my college roommate's birthday was two days before mine, so we'd always celebrate his birthday.. then our 'unbirthday'.. and finally my birthday.. 3 consecutive days of drunken debauchery.. altho it was usually sandwiched in between many other similar days.. but at least we had a reason for once

My birthday ended with a flooded basement. It wouldn't have been so bad but I had just brought down nearly thirty years worth of negatives and prints from the attic to sort through them. They were in a box on the basement floor. After coming home from dinner, my wife and I spent the evening hanging up wet neg's on makeshift lines using clothespins. It wasn't so bad, though. We had fun as we reminisced of most of lives together in the process -seeing our kids grow up and such.

Happy b-day Nick but that is a bummer! 🙁 We have had lots of rain up here too recently, over 2 inches yesterday and very luckily we survived without any leaking into the house in the basement. That happened once years ago and we took steps to make sure water was drawn away from the house by building a small slope where the ground met the walls and rigorously maintaining the gutters and drains. So far it seems to have worked.

Happy Birthday! ..sounds like your disaster turned into something good for you and your wife...sometimes I wish my old slides and negs would just vanish...I don't want to take time to view them, but they're a big temptation. I'd rather be looking forward...best wishes for your own future!
