Where can I get a white on black Leica dot? I want to replace my red one with this. Would I be able to just "tear" off the red one that's on there and slap the new dot on?

And yes, I am a poser like that..

The red dot isn't that distracting, really... Some people act as if it were the biggest problem but nobody has ever noticed the camera around my neck on account of the red dot. It just doesn't shine.

But then, the black one looks really cool... :)

Hmmm maybe it's actaully the glossy paint on the MP that makes it look good, maybe the dot really doesn't have that much effect..

Funny thing is, Francisco the black tape fell off my red dot a few weeks ago. After two years of being completely ignored I took a walk through Greenwich and a guy stopped me to say "nice camera". I've taped it up again just in case.

Mark... lucky coincidence! :)

You just ran into a very observant man. But if it makes you happy... put the tape back on.

I bought a late M6 which someone had blacked out the Leica logo and all the white engravings too. I had a really good laugh thinking back to comic books...like the way we were supposed to believe that nobody recognized Robin was really Dick Grayson when he donned that little black eye mask. I venture to guess that everyone knows it's a camera whether or not it's got markings. Anyway, it knocked about $300 off the cost of what would otherwise have been a mint M6, and I had fun re-filling the engravings with white paint and cleaning the black off the red dot, now it looks like new.
