It's 06:20 EST and B&H has black M8s in stock this morning. That's the second time in about a week. Last time they stayed in stock for about 5 hours. Let's see how long this time.

B&H had them In Stock last night and they are still there this morning.

Maybe the initial rush is abating?

If it weren't for the $415 tax premium (I live in Manhattan) . . . . ;-)

B and H also had chrome M8's in stock last night as well.
I'm also in Manhattan and l've gone as far as had one in my cart but the sales tax issue brought back to my senses.

You guys do realize you're still liable for sales tax, even if you purchase out of state.
I say spend the $415 to buy at a dealer who will replace your camera if there's a problem. And buy yourself the convenience of taking it into the store for an exchange instead of dealing with all that shipping. It's not strictly worth $400, but you owe that $400 to the state no matter how you cut it.

Absolutely! I send the appropriate tax in to the state every time I buy something online. In fact sometimes I even put in a little extra tip for the great service the state officials give me for my tax dollars

Endustry, Sirvine, both good points.
I've considered the convenience factor of buying locally, and if I do, I'll go to Photo Village or Tamarkin over B and H.
Sean at Camera West is a good option.
Surprisingly, He has had a black M8 on ebay for 9 days now, without any takers.

Hey, I don't make the rules! Point is that you're going to have to answer the questions about online purchases on your tax return (next month!) and that's when your supposed to be paying that $400 you owe to the state.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure Kurland Photo still has M8's too.
