Hey all,

I have the opportunity to purchase a new LHSA M6 TTL, black paint, at a very, very reasonable price. I always had the desire for a black paint M body. I want to use this, but according to a lot of sources, it is a future collectable, hence my hesitation. I wouldn't buy it to have it sit around. I am not a collector.

What would you do?

It has a premium on the price because of what it is and will always have some sort of premium even if used. However, why pay a premium for a user camera - apart from black paint and the LHSA logo its an M6. Buy an M6 you don't mind scratching unless you are a collector. The same goes for all the special editions - why would you want one just to use? I can understand personalisation - have some wild coloured cover if that turns you on - brown leather does look nice 🙂, but don't pay through the nose for something that adds no photographic value. But, if it makes you get out and shoot more and better 🙂 , then it might be worth it.

My two pennies worth.

If it is a good price and you would pay that for an MP to use, get it and use it. I wouldn't pay a premium for a "future collectable" but in this case what does it matter what others say.

I would buy that sucker and use it until the brass came through nice and shiny! Take great pictures with it and you'll be laughin an brassin all the day long.

FYI - I am not paying a premium price. I know better! The reason I am interested in it, is the price is far, far less then a MP.

If its that good a price then buy it - you'll only regret not getting it. If someone offered me the same thing at a good price I'd have a hard time turning it down even though I know it wouldn't make me take better pictures, but that would be pure lusty GAS 🙂 . I have to admit that they do look good

Buy it and use it now. How hard are you on Cameras? If a mint example goes up to $20,000 in 20 years and your brassed one is only worth $10,000, you can tell your friends you were too poor to buy two of them in 2006. The best deal for you just happened to be a collectible and you still have it. 😉

Hi to all. I suggest you to be very careful ! The camera could be a stolen one (if not coming from a serious, well known seller), or even that could be a scam-fraud attempt ! Ciao, Luigi

I have one, the black paint LHSA. I got it as a demo from Photo Village when it was only $100 more than a new M6ttl.

Love the black paint, love the brass top as I and others swear it makes a quieter camera. It really does sound different than zinc top cameras so that may matter.

Best of all I use the camera. I use it alot. So far only one very small area of brass coming through the paint. But this camera never had teh rumour of easy wear paint like MPs.

Get it and use it. This is the black paint M4 I always wanted as a teen and adult, but I could afford it.

Neil
