So I'm wondering if there are any brass body cameras with black paint on them as alternatives to Leicas...Does anyone on know of any?

I've only uncovered one passing mention of a black paint Canon 7...

In addition to the Canon P and 7, black paint versions of the L1, VTD, VTDM and VI-L were also produced, according to Peter Dechert's book on Canon cameras.

Nikon S2 and later (except the S4) had black paint options. They're all brass underneath.

By the mid 1970s black paint 35mm RF and SLR cameras came in black paint as either a standard finish or an optional one and at extra cost.

Black paint on cameras became extra popular at that time frame ...from paying extra to get a black OM 1 or Canon ftb or a budget Chinon made GAF SLR that was standard in black paint finish.

Of course the Cosina-Voigtlander Bessa R was commonly available in black, a camera which is approaching the status of a classic these days (judging by their exorbitant resale value if nothing else).

Thanks for all the responses! I was hoping to find something whose stylings I liked as much as Leica but I'm not sure there is...Anyway, let me know if anything else comes to mind!

In the late '90s-early '00s some Contax Gs were manufactured in black - I've seen one or two G2s in this color but not G1s.

Every now and then someone puts up a black Zeiss G lens for sale on Ebay, at the usual astronomical prices for this glass.

The Gs are also not brass cameras which may be a minus point for this OP.
