Hi

I've been thinking of getting a 35 Summilux for my M6 for a while, and by accident I stumbled across one today locally.. I am quite excited and up for buying it, but I can't quite work out exactly which version it is..

I've asked for the serial number, but I also wanted to check here.. It's black, and the inner most "ring" is silver (the one closest to the camera body). It has a hood that mounts the filter by unscrewing the hood.. BUT, it also has an infinity lock in the lens tab..

I can't work out if this is a version 2? Is it true that there were version 2 with infinity lock? Are they otherwise the same as version 2 (I mean, can I read about characteristics and base it on any version 2?).. And pricing, does it follow the version 2, or is the price affected by the infinity focus "weirdness"?

Thanks!

Kenny

Oh, that is fantastic, the one gripe I have with the summilux is the 1m close range, I wasn't even aware there was this "middle ground" one..

You guys think it is a good buy (for the same price as a nice condition version 2 goes on average)?

it all depends on conditions. I saw copies selling for more than 2kEuro in mint condition from reputable dealer. Current average price for a copy in good condition should be around 1200 - 1400 Euro I would say.

Thanks! Looks great!

I've offered him ~€1200, it is in really great shape and has the hood and uv filter.. So sounds quite reasonable, so will see if he takes that.. 🙂

It is lowest price I have seen for any version of the Lux in not trashed condition. I was late for one at local classifieds in Germany at 1300 earlier this week.
Here is just one (with inf. lock) on e-bay after DAG CLA for 1700+.

Yeah, I'm willing to pay more for it, I just meant that I may not have to if he accepts my offer. 😉 Thanks for the example prices!

Well, I got it, paid him ~€1320, will pick it up tomorrow. I think that was a fairly good deal, but will know when I test it out with film. 😉

Thanks for the replies and info!

Here's a few basic shots of the lens itself. Looks nice to me, but a bit too stiff to focus at close range so think I'll have it lubed unless it loosens up when I use it.

Thanks! I actually left it for a re-greasing just now, might as well get it over with straight away, when I got it on the camera it was just too stiff at close range to focus it accurately, so hopefully it'll be back as smooth as ever after the weekend. 🙂

Nice lens, I had it for a while. It was classic and the focus tab haa better feeling than plastic ones.
