I bought this scanner a month or so ago (got a very good deal) and I really like it (speed etc) but I just don't seem to be able to get sharp scans! It's weird isn't it? With quality equipment you think you should get better results. I compared some scans with my old Canon 8400f and I reckon the 8400f delivered sharper scans. So, is there a special trick for getting sharp scans? In case I need a lesson.. In the Epson software (through PS) I only choose "Image quality = best" 24-bit, res 3200, color restoration = yes. Other than that everything is default.

Help 😕

Definitely try the feet in the +, 0 and removed position. The right position is different for different people.

As for sharpness - Is auto-sharpening turned on on the 8400f vs. turned off on the V750?

First - use Vuescan, scan at 6400 ppi at 48 bit and reduce the tiff file in 2, this way you will get around 2200dpi real resolution in a 3200ppi file

Second- go to this site and get the adjustable holder - for MF get the glass as well
