There's my Proctor-Silex!
Yup, I did it again. I bought another camera, rangefinder, a Canon 7s.
This baby has some bright spots on the bottom plate and two very small nicks in the black paint. The curtains are perfect, no wrinkles at all. The meter is fine, it matches my Luna Pro. The seller had a CLA done on it before the transaction. He even had the meter adjusted to run on SilverOxide batteries! This camera looks like no film was ever run through it. The only wear is on the bottom plate. All this for $250!
I looked for years for a Canon 7 for less than $300. I think I went to every camera store in L.A. I was always checking eBay, KEH, Adorama, and B&H. I waited so long that I altered a FED 2 to take my Canon 0.95 lens! Now in three months I've snagged THREE Canon 7(s) for $534, two near mint! What do I tell my wife?
The only issue with this 7s, is that there is a thumbprint in the back door metal. It can't be seen from the outside, only felt. It is where one's right thumb naturally fall while hold the camera! It does not impact the pressure plate or roller.
A 7s is nicer camera than a 7. The meter is more sensitive and easier to read. The meter switch on the back is out of eyeglass scratching range. Also a shorter stroke is required for wind-on. Don't get me wrong, a vanilla 7 is a great camera.
Is the cost of older RF stuff going down?
