BP vs chrome: Is it just me...

or do the chrome lenses "feel" nicer in the hand?

Specifically, I just got a bp 50 millenium lux. Comparing to my current model 50 Elmar, the silver chrome finish feels nicer, more metallic. The BP lacquer feels sort of... cheaper. It sure looks nice though.

Maybe it's just the weight difference. Or maybe I'm just a silver chrome sort of guy...

oh ok. I thought the BP stuff were of similar weight to the black anodised. This lens only comes in BP though afaik?

Silver looks lovely, but it is more slippery than BP. The smooth almost plasticky BP finish really makes a difference to the sure feeling of the bodies at least in my hands. After acquiring my first Chrome leica I noticed this immediately. dont have any black chrome.

traction...as in the statement, "black paint results in a surface with greater traction than that of silver chrome."
