Braun Super Paxette - A Little Dainty RF

I resolved my issue with the wind. I was using it partially at waist level for street shooting, and the lever doesn't take kindly to that. Shooting at eye level, as rangefinders are designed to be, of course, it's sweet.

The stiffness as the lens approached infinity has eased off. Probably a bit of gunk congealed on ill-used threads, now displaced.

I've not got it loaded at the moment, because I want to get my 35ECRs sorted out, but it will be accompanying me again very soon.

And I should post some photos across to this thread.

Great photos! Luckily for me, I have my GAS under control. (What did you say was a good price for a complete kit? :D ) I can't use all the cameras I have now with any regularity so I can't see getting one of these. But they sure are cute. I had missed this thread the first time around I guess, so thanks for brining it up again.

Given I'm likely to be shooting more with this little darling, I'd like to get a skylight filter. Does anyone know the thread diameter for the Staeble Kata 45/2.8 (fixed, not interchangeable, in case there's a difference)? It's smaller than the 43.5mm of my small Olys, I think.

Since last posting in this thread PennyLane sold me his Super Paxette (with the fixed not-so-covetable Staeble-Kata lens).

It's sure is a beautiful camera, but I definitely don't like the ergonomics of the thing (Possibly due to my sausage fingers). I was constantly groping around when trying to focus or to find the shutter release button.

Congratulations.

A basic (non rangefinder) Paxette was my first real camera in 1954.
Once I got past the visual-extinction exposure meter—the second window and eyepiece— and got a Horvex meter, and later a Norwood: produced many fine pictures and memories.

The Rollei 35T takes me back to those days.

Hi, it's 29.5mm believe it or not. Kodak Retina filters are excellent.

There are quite a few on there normally. Let me double check when I get home. Certainly my pointikar and Schneider lenses are 29.5 so I'm sure the kata is too. Some of the lenses like the lineogon, zeiss and quinar are 40.5

Yup, 29.5mm or 34mm if you prefer a slip-on filter (as opposed to screw fit)

For some reason the Kodak 29.5mm filters say '32' on the edge...

Cheers
