Bresson book

Over the weekend I went to a small party. As I was leaving I saw a copy of he book: Henri Cartier-Bresson, The Man, The Image, The World.[/I] It was published in 2006 by Thanmes and Hudson. I have [/I]Scrapbook[/I], though I am not too excited about it. Can anyone tell me about The Man, The Image, The world? Should I invest in this book too?

Get it from your local library and if they don't have it request inter-library loan. That way you'll be able to make your own mind up. I have both books and prefer Scrapbook because it showed process as well as the finished article.

I just finished the book. The photographs are reproduced excellently. The essays are a little thin. The end of the book is devoted to his drawings.

If you are looking for an overview of Cartier-Bresson's photos, Henri Cartier-Bresson: Photographer is superior to The Man, The Image and The World. The photos are large and excellently reproduced with a tonal range closer to Cartier-Bresson's original prints than Man, Image & World. Another superior book is A Propas de Paris, offering excellent reproductions of his Paris photos.
