Broken M2 rewind button

Hello guys and gals

Has anyone had their M2 rewind button "pop out" on them ??. Mine did last night in the middle of rewinding a film. The central screwthreaded bit came fully out, along with a spring, and the chrome surround was wobbly as if not a lot was holding it on. I pushed everything back in as well as I could and the film rewound fine.

I screwed the central bit back in this morning and it has stayed in and seems to be OK now.

Do you think I should get it looked over, or can I get it changed to a lever rewind if needs be ??.

No offence taken, Magus. Perhaps my brain is broken too. I have no idea what you're going on about.

If there is anyone who has had this problem before AND can put up with my obviously abysmal English, would they please reply. Thank you.

the same thing happened to me many years ago, after I screwed everything back in, I applied a tiny drop of clear nail polish between the screw head and the surround.
it has been good ever since.
