yes that is what I think it is ebay and the camera had never been used prior to me getting it, I guess I could send it back but would be willing to get it fixed I emailed precision camera to see if they work on these..The thing looks brand new I will give it a whirl tonight and then see what happens on the other hand I hate to get a lemon..

I think this camera needs a tech ... you've done all the logical things and nothing has worked.
Bad luck ... you must be feeling a little frustrated.
yes a little , thanks, what messes with me was the fact that the first roll went through like a dream!!!

ok just got home and loaded some fuji film and it worked fine and the counter worked etc. I guess my question is WTF???

why would this film work with no problems? I am thinking that I should start the film past the red line that is what I did with ilford and it worked.

The best camera is one that still works!
Quite bizzare ... obviously a Fujifilm plot!
I remember the first time I put a roll of Fuji in my Super Ikonta folder it jammed up and made a real mess. All other films have been fine!
Hopefully this is just a random event and will never strike again! Long live the RF645 ... a truly magnificent MF camera!

I agree I love this thing my last one was great should have never sold the dern thing now I have to shoot 16 exposures and see what happens, I guess if I understood the actual mechanism of the camera and what is happening I could figure it out..

All this RF645 discussion is making me wonder why I haven't used mine for quite a while. I've used my D700 and P67ii a bit recently and when I took the Bronica out of the cupboard to check the film loading anomalies for this thread, I was amazed out how small it is compared to the two cameras I've just mentioned.

Mine doesn't seem to be film-brand picky, since I use Velvia 100, Ektar 100, HP5+, and FP4+ in my RF645 with no problems, but it did have a CLA last year by Tamron in New York. Tamron's CLA cost was fairly reasonable (around $140 IIRC, which included repair of the shutter release switch) but I did have to send it back once under the CLA warranty when they didn't get the infinity focus right the first time. It's worked great since then. Better hurry if you want a "factory" CLA, Tamron is officially dumping all Bronica support in October of this year, although there will hopefully still be a few places that will service them. Absolutely my favorite all time MF camera, I'm seriously considering selling a couple of cameras to scratch enough cash together to buy a backup RF645 this year.
I wish somebody like Cosina would copy the size (especially the feel of it in the hand and the control layout), and the outstanding VF/metering, and make a new version. I'd buy a new RF645 clone in a heartbeat!

It's a rf645 winding defect.you can have fixed it by a good tech. I have spent 80 euro for a winding problem,CLA,RF/VF alignement and a check up.
