Hi,
The 100mm is rare indeed and yes, they used to sell new for $450,-.
It is a great camera and in my opinion the closest to a Leica you can get in MF.
Only drawback for me is the relatively low speed of the lenses.
Cheers,
Michiel Fokkema

I agree it is a great camera, but I would prefer less plasticky build. I also have Mamiya 6 which is built better, IMO, with fewer plastic parts.

Dislikes:
* The AE lock button. I'd prefer AE lock was part of the shutter release i.e. part depress to hold the exposure setting. ALWAYS forget to turn it off after using it.
* The way occasionally, using one brand of film followed by another brand seems to produce misloads. Most recent was Tri X followed by Neopan. Ended up with a fat roll that bulged beyond the flanges of the spool.
* The degree to which the 45mm lens intrudes on the scene when doing the trick of using the full viewfinder for framing. Claustrophobic...
* The way that the rubber on the 45mm's focusing ring and auxiliary viewfinder seems to have oxidised and discoloured - it has gone whitish. It's stored with the other lenses, and yet it's the only one this has happened to.
Hmm, looks like I'm giving the wrong impression. I really like this camera!

Nah. I just need to remember when I sell my 45mm lens to note that it's still all black and fabulous.

I must be an exception here; I actually sold my 100mm lens for as much as I had paid for the whole flash + 3 lenses kit. I rarely used it, I felt it was a bit short in reach. Otherwise I agree with what everyone else is saying, it is a lovely, light but well built, ergonomically exceptional camera that brings 35mm ease to MF shooting. Regarding the 45mm viewfinder, I use it but not on the camera: I carry it in my pocket and use it when I want to check potential compositions discreetly.
