Desperate but not serious
Looks like he hates the MP's - 28mm lines?

I wonder why the area surrounding his shutter button is not chrome like on normal MP's?
It is black like M6's and M4-P's etc...

Seems to be a M8, right?
With a 21mm Elmarit, so the external VF is 28.
The tape is for not to be blinded by the flash

Its an MP
Id imagine he uses an external finder as they are much easier to use quickly than the built in framelines

I don't really know either but, at least sometimes he's a a loud man in a safari outfit in NY shooting people straight in the face with a flash gun: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRBARi09je8&feature=related

I didn't think anybody used that monster hood. I certainly didn't when I had that lens.

He's a well known modern street photographer in NYC known for an in-your-face ambush approach utilizing a separate hand-held flash and hyper-focal techniques. I saw him in action once. He weaves throughout the crowded streets like a stealth fighter, flashes a pic inches from the subjects face and disappears before anyone has a chance to object. I was going to speak with him about his camera but he literally disappeared before my very eyes. I saw him several times in an afternoon. I think he wears the One Ring.

Haha, Bruce is perhaps using the hood as a crumple zone in case he gets TOO close
He mentioned to me that he has an M8 as well, but it's still in the box, unused... unless film disappears completely, he shoots Tri-X only.

I find 0.72 finder 28 lines unusable, so switched to 24mm with 0.72s using a hotshoe finder. I find the Zeiss 25 finder allows me to frame so much faster and more comfortably.
I have a 0.58 finder which is wonderful with 28mm.

You're trying to start an argument. Bruce Gilden and the Fuji X100 are the most controversial subjects on this forum.

Hmmm...I was expecting to see some traces of brown from whence the camera came from after an altercation with an innocent victim....

It could be even a bigger argument if Bruce would use an X100 instead of a Leica

I wonder if he would still be alive in a 'concealed carry' state?

Yes, because shooting a picture of someone is grounds enough for a shooting!

I doubt a retrospective legal ruling would save him, and anyway, what he does looks a lot like an assault, whatever his intention.
