Bulb setting on 262

Just purchased a new 262 and have been trying to figure out the bulb setting. I was trying to take pictures of the milky way and have been trying to over expose it I a bit but with the camera set at anything over 640 ISO it will only allow me to take an 8sec exposure. It should keep the shutter open until the max 60 seconds is reached. What am I doing wrong?

from what I recall using the M240, the bulb setting is dependent on the ISO.

page 188 of the manual:

"With the B setting, the shutter remains open for as long as the shutter release button is held down (up to a maximum of 60s; depending on the ISO setting)."
