I tend to shoot mostly expired film these days, bought cheap and stored in the freezer or fridge.. and have been loading my own b&w film for a few months now.. but the bulk loaders are never kept in the fridge, meaning the film is probably degrading more rapidly once it's moved out of the freezer but not yet loaded into cassettes that are stored in the fridge again

do the rest of you store your bulk loaders in the fridge?

I also put my bulk loader in a ziplock and then back in the fridge - but be careful not to drop it when it's cold, I broke one that way.

Humm.... Seems to be a trend...
Ziplock and fridge for me also, top left, behind the beer.

The same. Bottom right, behind the organic mustard greens and lone can of coca-cola for when my mom visits.

I usually bulk load the entire load in one sitting, put the cassetes in film boxes and then freeze them.I take 5 each time to defreeze for a day before use\develop.

I asked 'photo engineer' over on APUG about this once. He said that it was a good idea to refrigerate in freezer bags and put a couple of dessicant packets in the ziplock for when you pull it out of the refrigerator. Just make sure to let the loader warm up for an hour or so before opening the bag and rolling the film.
