Over the Rainbow
This man stands at the same spot every day and earns some extra money by playing the violin. A few minutes before this picture was taken, a passerby offered him a donut. Whilst he was still eating the donut, I approached him, chucked some money into his open violin case and asked if I could take a picture. He smiled and, still chewing on his donut, gave me a screechy rendition of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.”

an interweb rumour has it that when they buried Marcel Marceau there was no lid on the box.
just Marcel's, white gloved, upturned palms as if constrained by some imagined glass lid .. I take great comfort from that mental image

Back Alley, that fourth pic, with the little girl, is very affecting. Wonder what she was thinking about. We all have moments from our childhood that stand out; I'd bet this will be one for her.
