I am disputing the purchase of a 124 G I bought recently on ebay. But while I was waiting for the ten days to elapse before I could register the dispute with ebay I have been watching various tlr's. Probably not a smart thing to do.

I found a nice looking Rolleicord Type 1V with only 30 minutes left on the clock and sitting at just over $30.00.

It should be here soon.

Well, if it makes you feel any better I actually ended up paying $42. 00 for it. 😀

I spoke too soon. After looking around on the net I think the Rolleicord I bought is a Type 1 III. Not a V. Not as sought after as the V but supposedly worth around $200.00.

The seller claims 100% functional and 3 stars out of five on looks.

We'll see........

200$ is a bot too much, unless you have a superbly kept collector-attracting example.
Or, if it is equipped with a new maxwell screen.
But it's certainly much more than the 42$ you've payed! Congrats.

I see it has a compur-rapid. That's probably pre-ww2? with an uncoated lens maybe?
don't forget to use a lens hood on it.

It'll give lovely results, especially with Xenar or Tessar lens.

I'm not positive that it has either of those lenses. It might have the older "Triotar". The site I went to had several models listed but only a few were very close to the pic on the listing. The one I got also has a strange plug in receptical on the bottom left side of the camera body. I'm guessing it is for M flash but again I'm not sure. I posted a picture of the left side. What do you think?

I've never seen that before on a Rolleicord, but it looks like a bi-pole flash connection like I've got on some old LF lenses.

That was what I thought as well. It looks something like the flash conector on the lens of my Crown graphic ( Optar 150mm). But if you look on the pic of the front face you can see what looks to be a PC connector on the right front bottom. The period when these cameras were made were right at the time when "X" sync was being introduced so it is not impossible that there were two plug in's for the differing systems. It could also be a retrofit or repair.
