I'll be spending a few days in Riga (Latvia) shortly and was wondering whether I could buy film there. More specifically, Tri-X and Delta 3200 (in 35mm and 120) is what I'm interested in. The main reason to buy locally as opposed to bringing from the UK would be to avoid airport X-ray scanners on the inbound flights.

Any tip would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Vincent

Vincent, I just called two shops and only one has Delta3200 type135 (Ls4, which translates to about 4 pounds), no type120. From 120's they have HP5 and FP4....
There's another major store and they used to stock up Ilford film, though they are hard to call as they are large. I will try to go near them and give update.

Beware of cabs in airport :)

Wow, thanks for your help. Looks like it might not be easy to find what I need locally then... And 4 pounds is a bit more than I'd be willing to pay for a roll. Well, I can always "import" some Tri-X - and push it.

Thanks again.

Most airports have camera shops with some 35mm selection (mainly 24 exposures,) you go through security have an empty camera x rayed and buy the film, e.g. Brum.

Hmm... Have never seen any Tri-X (let alone Delta 3200) in airport camera shops.

Vincent,

large store where before couple of years I bought Delta3200, now carry Kodak's C41 at best.
Though in local forum I got to know about other shop (they develop BW, too, it's pro shop), they have Delta3200 cheaper a bit, you can check their price list.

The Dixons at Brum did both

C41 colour 400 ASA 24 exp Kodak
and B&W 400 ASA exp Kodak

The B&W was either C41 (i.e. chromogenic) or conventional I've forgotten which. It was not cheap cheap but Se was dearer when I got there.

Vincent, I'm contacted by local guy who is willing to sell his 10 rolls of MF Delta3200. I've asked about exp.date, storage and price, though main factor is if you are interested in only 10 rolls. If you are, I will let you know details.

UPD: last update shows there are 19 rolls of MF Delta3200.
