C Sonnar 50/1,5 or Summarit 50/2,5

Roger, out of interest now you have had both these lenses for a few years do you still feel this way? Also if you were only to choose one to use with black and white film on say a M3, which would it be and why? I appreciate there is a speed difference and a different look, but as I have not be able to see either lens and will have to order blind, I would value your comments. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Yes, I still feel the same way. And so does my wife. We sometimes use one another's 50s but I still prefer the Sonnar and she still prefers the Summarit.

For B+W on an M3, I'd go for the Sonnar for a more 'classic' look, the small size and the speed, but quite honestly it's all splitting hairs: the Sonnar, the Summarit, the Color Skopar (another 50/2.5) and the Nokton 50/1.5 are all good lenses.

(1) Yes, f/1,5 (2) Mostly at either f/1,5 or f/4 and below (3) mostly digi now but still filmas well, especially in B+W.

Thanks again Roger, appreciate your sharing. They are all optimized for f2.8 out of the factory now, unless you put a special order in, or send it back for recalibtation.
