50mm Sonnar C wide-open
Like a Tele, it's got it's quirks but wide-open it cuts right through!![]()
Fantastic shot showing what the Sonnar is all about!

Thank you guys,
This was one I just made last weekend so I wanted to share it. The truth is I still keep fingers crossed when using this lens. And I won't sell my 50 Summicron just yet!

I would recommend to anybody having problems focusing this kind of super-small DOF lenses to get 1.4x or at least 1.25x magnifier. If you want to use it on more than one camera, make sure their RF calibrations match.
My version is 2,8 optimised which means: nothing to worry about from 2,8-22 at any distance. At high aperture and close distance my lens is front-focusing - I have to compensate (lean or focus 2-3cm behind the desired focus plane).
That said, you don't need to go f1,5 to get "character" from this lens, it's there even at 2,8 or f4. It's never "sterile".

Well said - it's magical throughout its range - I think its falloff is magnificent anywhere from f/1.5 to f/4.
