C41/120 sticking to itself

So I've just started developing C-41 at home and am running into the film sticking to itself on the reel. I'm using a patterson tank, and have never had an issue with B+W film, but of the 5 rolls I've developed of C41, 3 have had a section of the film stick. My guess is that its either the added temperature of C41 chemicals that is causing it or its the agitation method (with B+W I just spin the reel and with C41 I have been using an inversion method).

Im no expert on C41 but i have done it a few times. One time it suck and i waterbathed it between baths and that seemed to do the trick. But im no expert

IDK the Patterson reels from personal experience, but normally film should not stick to itself on a reel. Actually there should not be any film to film contact at all, that is what the reel is supposed to prevent in the first place!

If you still experience this problem, you might not be loading the film correctly. You especially want to make sure that the whole length of film is loaded on the reel as far as it goes (well past the feeding "mouth"). With Jobo reels, when loading two 120 rolls on a single reel, there is a small red plastic clip that you push down after loading the first roll all the way in. That clip prevents the beginning of the second roll from overlapping with the end of the first roll.
