I've spent a lot of time in the tropics. I choose the Yukon because I love what happens up here in the winter, and this winter was glorious. Cold, yes, but that's part of winter, last I checked.
The light is stunning. Back in the day, the bigoted art wallas called it Native Surrealism because they thought, among other things, that the colours used were, well, surrealistic. Lemme tell you about midday with the sun maybe two diameters above the horizon and all that key lighting coming through a gahzillion miles of atmosphere. Beautiful. And highly spectrumized, if you will.
Then again, some of my ancestors built the Alhambra and I like the light there also.
