A question for folks who use Caffenol in Paterson developing tanks: Do you use a separate, dedicated Paterson tank (and reels) for developing with Caffenol? Is developer cross-contamination an issue? Or do you use the same Paterson tank for all your developing, regardless of developer?
I currently use a two-reel Super System 4, and I have no complaints. Thinking of giving DIY home-made Caffenol developer a try, so any tips, tricks, or things to watch out for would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Thanks, B-9! Sounds like so long as I wash it out better than my actual coffee mug, I should be fine.

I agree with above remarks , have been using the same tank with caffenol , hc-110 and xtol .The caffenol cookbook is online a great reference source . Repeatable results with are best realized when you use an accurate scale . Remember , cheap instant coffee , real ascorbic acid ( readily available from a local druggist ) and SpaGuard balancer from a swimming pool supplier . It's a common brand of swimming pool ph balancer and is anhydrous sodium carbonate , everything listed here is pretty cheap . The negatives will exhibit a slight stain , but they scan just fine . Hope this helps , Peter

If you are worried about a brown stain, rinse it with a bit of stop bath after use. Probably a good idea for the coffee maker and mug too (although use vinegar, not "stop bath", although it's basically the same thing.)

^ Chris , are you suggesting using stop bath after it's already gone through the original stop bath and fixing ? Peter
ps; in my original post I assumed one would use a stop bath and fix after development .
