Calling all Brits!

All of this is really making me want to go there next time I'm in England! :)
Plus one! When we made our plan to go there to visit our friend Barbara, I wasn't thinking there would be much to see and do. It was just a visit to a dear friend and a break from our sojourn of six weeks up and down the west coast of France. Now it sounds like one of the real highlights of the whole trip!
All of you have been incredibly helpful. I'm barely able to keep up with all the reading! Thank you all so much, and feel free to keep posting here!

Ezzie jogged my memory - you have all the Suffolk Wool Towns as well - made rich by Flemish weavers in the 15th century:

Lavenham is supposed to be the best preserved mediaeval village in England, but several of them are beautiful - and they tend to have huge churches way out of line with the size of the town/village - built by the rich weavers trying to stay on the right side of the Church. The "Suffolk pink" colour of a lot of the buildings was originally made by mixing sheep's blood with whitewash!

Enough local patriotism from me for one thread, but I think you will be pleasantly surprised Vics - and May is the perfect time to be here.

Thanks for your posts, Steveh. I think local patriotism is one of the finest traits of the English. I can already see that we'll have to make some repeat visits!

I'll be in Felixstowe in the UK for the first week of May, and I'm looking for advice on places to shoot around there. I'll be staying at the home of a friend and will have transportation, so...

II just wanted to stop by and say to all you Brits who chimed in and helped us with our trip, THANK YOU ALL! We had a great time with our host and all af her family seeing Felixstowe, Levenham, Sutton Hoo, Cambridge, Bury St. Edmunds and many more wonderful sights! Suffolk is really a great destination for a photographer or any traveler. Thank you so much for all your help!
