Artisan & Artist?

Artisan & Artist?

I've got a couple of Thinktank bags for my SLRs (including the Urban Disguise 50, which holds a laptop as well), and I really like them a lot (and the company, who have been fantastically responsive in terms of questions / suggestions all through their design process) - but i just didn't find one that worked with my rangefinder system.

The Urban Disguise series has a 10 / 20 size (I think) that could be about right in terms of volume, but it's designed for an SLR with a longer lens on it - I found trying to pull my R-D1s out of the top led to the somewhat stiff fabric grabbing it out of my hand rather than being able to pull it smoothly out. And keeping a couple of small RF lenses would mean they were rolling loose around the bottom of the bag, rather than stashed away and ready for action - the layout just didn't seem right to me for this particular set of kit.

In the end, I've got an Artisan & Artist bag coming to try out (from Mainline Photographics in Sydney, incidentally), a new leather model called the DCAM-7100. It's effectively the same as the ACAM seen here - http://www.artisanandartist.com/bags/acam7100.htm - which, as you'll see from the photos, looks ideal for an RF body and a couple of lenses. Here's another image of the inside -

- looks pretty ideal to me!

Will make sure to post my comments on it once it has arrived...

Im trying to source a military satchel where I can put a Billingham Hadley three-section insert. The Domke starting to get small and the Billingham too she-she.

I'd go for the 'she-she' (chichi) option: the Billingham Hadley Digital. It neatly takes just the outfit described and looks pretty cool. Real Men can order it in black.
