Last August I spent my Summer vacations on a Adriatic beach of Italy, and I had the chance to visit the Republic of San Marino (I like collecting stamps, and they issue beautiful stamps). On that day I met an old gentleman who loves old cameras, and he invited me to visit his collection: more than 200 pieces from USSR and Germany (the Werra are simply wonderful to me!)
Here you see few pictures of that collection, I was invited to try some of them: I shall go here again, he has planned a photo tour of San Marino, in order to test some cameras.
I will be glad to read your comments.

Long live film!

I first bought supplies from Ball photo in 1974 in Knoxville TN. At that time Mr. Ball had several stores. Mr. Ball died a few years ago and all that is left is his Asheville N.C. store but I have good memories of the two times Mr. Ball let me into his back room where part of his collection was. It was a great delight to see hundreds of cameras both rare and common. After his death, the family started to sell some of the collection and I bought some. I got a Canon Vit with 35 f1.5 for $300, a Contax IIa and most especially a brand new DR Summicron, in box, unused, for $600.

I do miss the big camera stores that are no more.

Anyone here ever get to Altmans in Chicago? Joe
