camera from a smoking household?

Careful with alcohol, I've once wiped the withe paint off of a Chinon body, and acrylic, for example frame counter windows, will fog!

I love an old thread.
It happened to me once (a stinky smoke camera). I returned it and bought a new one from a smoke free house. It was far easier than any of the other suggestions.

Baking soda, vinegar, soap - you name it... Tried everything, it helps somewhat but mostly it needs time. It will ultimately go away, but some things can be ruined forever - I am trying to remove the tobacco smell from the leather case of an old Agfa Sensor, it’s been sharing the box with baking soda for almost a year and it does not help at all.

Time. The smell will fade away in time.

Since this original question was asked in 2010, I expect the odor is beginning to fade away.
