Mine's another vote for the pelican case, I've done it several times. Mine would still float with a Nikon D700 w/24-70 f/2.8 attached and an extra lens inside. Best practice is to put your gear in the case, fill up the bathtub and throw it in as a test. It's also not a bad idea to tie the case to the kayak, in case of a tip-over.
