[wrong title: NOT a flashmeter!]

I use a Pentax digital spotmeter, and I like it a lot, but sometimes I wish I had a working small clip-on meter for my old Canon and Leica cameras. I do have non-working but good looking Leica and Canon meters. I read somewhere that there is a place somewhere that fixes such meters for abot $65~$75. I just read at cameraquest.com about the CV meters. They cost about $170.

What is the best way to go here?

Hi Raid, if you have an M or MC meter with selenium cell (no battery) I wouldn't bother getting it fixed because they aren't too sensitive in low light , compared to a Cds meter. An MR meter takes mercury batteries so you need a CRIS battery converter, but it is more sensitive at low light levels. I do not know about the MR-4 meter. I have a CV MeterII and quite like it, but just today I bought an MR meter for $50.

So clearly the answer is to get both. 🙂

Hi Frank,
My meters are old and they don't take batteries. I also expect them to be less useful than a more sensitive meter. Maybe the MR is a good option ... and also a CV meter!

Anyone here with an MR meter (that works) for sale?

Raid, RFF member Ergo has a camera/lenses/meter kit for sale in the classifieds. It includes the latest MR-4 meter. He may be willing to split it up if you ask.

Frank,
I cannot locate his ad anywhere in the classified section. I looked under "lenses" and under "cameras". Maybe he already has sold his stuff.
