Well, the next town over. Pretty exciting though because it is going to be near where I shop and stuff. That is big when you are in a suburban/almost rural area. It is a shop that is moving from another location. They never have had a lot of used stuff, but keep lots of supplies on hand. They have had photography clubs in the past too, and do a good job processing.

That last bit there is the important part. I've been going to the same shop for years, and no place else, because they do a good job processing. And they've got knowledgeable sales people to boot!

Enjoy the shop. :)

rover, you're a lucky man. Here the last photo shop moved out... to an even smaller town!

Developing photos here? Only if it's slide film, at the university lab.

I stopped in tonight on my way home. They have a very small selection of cameras, but a bit of other stuff to fill the place up. Nice tripods and heads, darkroom supplies, filters (mostly the common sizes), bags, straps..... The gentleman they used for repairs passed away, so they do not take any cameras in any more. They did tell me of a large facility in Springfield, MA that I will have to look up. I will bring them some business with the hopes that they can stay there for a while.

They do. I was taking my 120 to their old location, but it was just too out of the way for me to continue. I bought A&I mailers with the last batch of 120 film I ordered, so I will start using them again when I am out of envelopes.

I think a place like this will have to survive on processing, digital services, and whatever photo class and club interest they can muster. Their prices aren't bad for their cameras, but based on their stock you can tell it isn't a focus of theirs.

What't the name/location of the new shop, Rover?

Precision Camera in Enfield repairs most major brands.

Cheers,
Huck :)

Hi Huck, how have you been?

Willimantic Camera has moved to Colchester. It is on Old Hartford Road, across from the movie theater in the plaza with Eblens.

I believe it is now called the Photo Connection.

Wow! It was a shame to see Willimantic Camera decline ove the years. I think that they did a good business at one time catering to students from UConn & Eastern. (?) I hope it does better in Colchester.

Thanks for the reply, Rover. Doing well, thanks, but busy.
