Camera show, Grapevine Texas.
In addition to a brick of expired Tmax I bought an Argus "A". The thing looks new. I ran a roll of the Tmax through it before I left town and got good results. The camera cost $20.00.
My question, I have never seen an "A" with a focus ring. I think there's an Argus forum someplace but I have not found it yet.
Has anyone seen this before?

Looks like you purchased it from Gary Blockley? He had a table of some very interesting and beautiful equipment. I noticed the Argus. His prices were quite reasonable also.

I ended up with one of his many movie cameras, a Bauer 88B. I also bought an old Kodak graduated cylinder for mixing chemicals.

Good stuff. He had not exhibited there before.

What you have is an Argus AF... Basically it's an Argus A with a proper focus helical. They produce decent results... considering what they are. Produced around 1938-38.

I did not get the dealer's name but he was pleasant. In fact, I had a nice time and all the folks I talked to were friendly. Noone on RFF mentioned it so I just went with my wife and then had lunch.

Thanks, all, for the information. I did not know such a camera existed. I had one of the two position As for awhile.
