Camera Strap Protective Leather Tabs?

So what do you call the little leather tabs that fit between the camera's strap attachment lug and the metal ring of the strap to protect scratching of the top plate?

Tabs, Inserts, Flaps?

And, where can you buy a dozen?

Yeah, I guess they are pretty easy to make, but then I'd have to buy the leather, figure out the design, cut it myself. In this internet age, I'd rather click-paypal-ship.

All such tabs will eventually wear down the camera finish. Trust me: 4 decades of experience.

Ironically, the best way to prevent that is what Leica did on the M6, 7, 8, 9...

But, the simplest and cheapest way is to stick on a silicone bump that is normally used on kitchen cabinets...available in any hardware store, cheap.

I googled and googled and couldn't figure out what keywords worked.

Strap Bumper makes sense.

I like the idea of kitchen cabinet bumpers, but I think that would depend on the geometry of the strap, lug and top-plate.

The trick is to stick the bumper where the strap tends to rub/hit the camera body. Look at photos of used M6/7... and you will get the idea. The most likely place is just above the lug.

For weird camera body shapes, I also use stick-on silicone strips [DIY custom cut] normally sold for cushioning your feet against new shoes...drug store item.
