Hello, I was wondering if anyone knew what the plate attached to the camera/adapter is in this animation?
Looks to be a long arca plate, but then the red thing in between is some sort of spacer? I doubt this is a packaged product but it seems like something like this would be quite useful, especially because I don't trust the tripod mount on my Fotodiox adapter all that much.

Nope, what im looking for is the little plate that is attached to the camera and is also attached to the sony/canon adapter.

Oh - *that* red part. My guess is it's a body plate from the same company...but I've never seen one. Would be very useful for long lenses indeed.

I think those are just two different pieces. The Canon to E-mount adapter has a tripod mount, so they basically just attached a regular A/S compatible QR plate and some metal or rubber spacer for the body to rest on to counter the pull of the big lens on the mount.
IMHO, it's overkill since the entire rig is secured to the tripod via the lens tripod mount.
But it does look kinda cool.

Yeah I agree it is overkill for what he has there, but consider if you had say....a Canon 11-24 or 100 L macro (which doesn't come with the tripod collar) or some other large heavy Canon lens that doesn't have a collar, then you might just want that extra attachment point to add stability and strength to the mount rather than relying on the half square inch contact point of the adapter's tripod socket which is a removable bit that screws into the adapter via a single tripod screw.
Removing the adapter to use native or other adapters would be a pain in the neck but better that than a lesson in gravity.
