Thanks PKR, I just gave a quick look at Esha works, which is amazing. I'll go back there later (I have to go downtown Milano to have some pictures printed to day). It s interesting to see work of photographers couples. Here is another interesting couple:

and his wife

What is interesting is that they have two separates studios in their house and where Maggie works digital Jerry works completely analog. One of my photography teacher organized their exhibitions in Italy and told me that Jerry has a darkroom with 6 enlargers ! wow !
ciao,

Thanks for the Uelsmann link. I remember seeing some of his work a few years ago ( I believe I was 10) and couldn't believe that it could be done without photoshop. It was utterly mind-blowing.

I'm not at all bored! I've been working on a humanities paper, and thus my photography appreciation time has been cut short.
I'll take an indepth look at the last few days of posts tonight and see if I can't add some more to the list. Sorry about my inactivity!

The HP/Elliot Erwitt piece is neat. Printing negatives and then contact printing them never occurred to me. Can it be done without a massive HP printer?

I'm just starting down this road. Getting only a 4x5 instead of 5x7 or 8x10 view camera took some of the excitement out of plans to contact print. Then I thought I'd create an 8x10 digital negative (from either scanned 135, 4x5 or a digital 135 file), and go from there..
Here's a good article (3 parts) on scanning and converting film to digital:
http://theonlinephotographer.typepad.com/the_online_photographer/2010/10/perfunctory-guide-i.html
There is a recent thread on largeformatphotography.info regarding printing from digital negatives. It lists 3rd parties that will scan and provide a digital negative, and some alternative processes that work well with digital negatives.
Thread is here:
http://www.largeformatphotography.info/forum/showthread.php?t=67826
Mark Nelson (PDN) has a process / website
Dan Burkholters has a site and template available for printing onto Pictorico.
I'll be picking up some Pictorico as part of next B&H order:
