Some images of my MP with the 4008 aki asahi covering. It's lovely to touch, and a duller matt texture, compared with the shiny smoother 4034 I had on it previously.

The 4008 looks great; does anyone know whether Aki-Asahi is planning to offer it for the M9?

Smoother? I thought the 4034 has the coarsest grain of em all.

Still waiting for mine.

Aki Asahi is great, always on the ball with email, quick and secure shipment. I now have 4008 on all my Ms, including an M6. Also always ships a spare backdoor cover, and custom cuts if needed. Like on this M3:

Went with Griptac on one of my bodies, but that 4034 looks mighty nice.

My 4008 is on the way and my m3 is ready for it. Can anyone tell me how to recover the paint on the 4 front screws in between leather? I rub off 2 of them and it's kind of ugly

The paint was worn off of mine when I recovered my M3. I just left them alone, but I'm sure a few dabs of Testers model paint would do the trick.

Officially only for M8, but since they share the same body, it should fit the M9 as well. Just placed an order for #4034 for my M8! 🙂

This is my M8 covered with Aki Asahi #4034. It seems pretty close to Leica's vulcanite, and it should fit the M9 as well. I think it looks fabulous, and it feels MUCH better than the M8's original "sandpaper" covering.

Also, sorry for spamming rff with this picture today ... 😛

Youxin Ye covered my 70th Anniversary M4-P with 4034 to replace some very chipped vulcanite and the covering is fantastic.

Seems there is quite a lot of variation in te "Pebble Emboss" of Aki Asahi. This is Pebble Emboss too ...
