Leica LTM My naked IIIg gets some new clothes

Spent this evening removing the vulcanite from my trusty IIIg, (warming the old vulcanite with a hair dryer would be my top tip) . Its new clothes being #4008 leatherette from aki-asahi (what a great, fast service). A pic below shows the naked IIIg awaiting its leather suit🙂. I have just fitted the new leather and it looks soo nice, (but a photo of the finished article will have to wait as the photographer, (my son with his camera phone) has gone to bed. My Nokia 3310 does not have a camera on it😀

The Aki-Asahi covering looks very good, very close to the original.

I've seen several iiigs on the auction site lately with re-covering that doesn't seem to fit very well, plus clearly not the right texture.

many thanks and the leather covering feels great in the hand too, warmer than holding my IIIc with original vulcanite covering
