it seems to me that Cameras and Photogs in the Movies is a popular topic at RFF, with many threads already aiming to identify whatever cameras.

Please vote whether or not RFF should have a "Cameras in the Movies" forum.

Sure, why not? I find those threads intersting from time to time. I also have read here and there about the personal gear used by folks who's lives are spent in front of a camera.

I find the dicussion of cameras in movies interesting, but I am not all that sure a whole forum needs to be dedicated to it.
Just my two cents.

I voted no. The most recent discussion about a camera in 'blood diamond' went on too long.

About books: has anyone read the Nina Zero Novels by Robert Eversz. I think she uses Contax cameras.

Ducky

Maybe I'm thinking of Kay Farrow in David Hunts' books. I think she's the one with the Contax.

Either way, they make good reading.

it would be nice to just read for fun
provided such a thread doesnt slow down the bandwidth and use up resources to run the actual main forum

Good point.

It also could be a place to have all the "check this streetshooting vid" or "interview with HCB" and threads like that.
great idea! I 'll be happy to see everything documentary on one place :)

Erik, now this one I get, and a great idea.

But the bartender's question does not make me think about these, I read the question as talking about Hollywood movies.

Personally, I don't give a whit of care what movie stars are using except when they have established themselves as a dedicated photographer. Which reminds me of this one, I like his photos and style.

I think there's already too many different rooms.

I did vote yes, because it further organizes the nature of the posts. But this point needs to be kept in mind, too. Sometimes I will spend a few minutes looking to whether there is a specific forum to look for something. Needless to say posts of this nature, which fit into the OT forum, do sometimes find themselves in the "Leica" or another specific manufactor's forum because the poster thinks he may have spotted one in a show. So I am divided on this, between Ian's remark, and the organizer bunny in me that want things kept where they belong. Perhaps just keeping posts of this nature in the OT forum would be the simplest?

Good cheer, Thomas
