Camouflaged amongst the tourists

If you are going to use a wide angle you also have to be willing to get CLOSE. IMO, wide angle street shot are very boring when on isn't right up in the mix of the action.

Interestingly, Bruce Gilden is also the only one who uses a rangefinder, the other two use digital compacts and DSLRs... And even Bruce Gilden might use just about any camera with his technique.

true, this is rangefinder forum, but I posed the other videos to make a point of addressing the ways in which other photographer go about shooting people in the street. The camera in use is not the point, I'm sure those three folks would still pull amazing shots using an iPhone or a disposable camera.

Thanks for posting these, especially the Bruce Gilden. I guess that's about the ultimate in forward use of the camera.

totally, as you can see, his mental state is that of pure confidence. its not "may i PLEASE take your photo" its more like "I'm going to take your picture because its my RIGHT to do so"
But, at the same time, he does appear "off" and I'm sure he's had a few conflicts that have stemmed from this in the past. I think its amazing that hes in folks faces with the flash unit.
