Anybody heard of this? An article about it appeared in the New York Times a couple of days ago: Camp Snap Screen-Free Digital Camera

It sounds like an interesting product -- with limitations of course. But at that price, it might be fun.

I almost bought one for my son to take to 6th grade Science Camp. I think I first heard about it from Velo Orange:

Interesting, kinda the digital version of the cheap fuji disposal film cameras from late 1990s to early 2000s. Whether these are any better quality than a phone camera may be questionable, but the form factor is fun.

The pictures in the NY Times article looked pretty good, though there's shutter lag and a slow lens.

Interesting idea but I think I'll just tape a piece of construction paper over my Q7. I already own that one but it might be fun for a couple of days.

After looking at Kiva's photos, I was convinced it would work for what I wanted it for. The Forrest Green model is on its way as my Christmas gift to me.

At least the photographer will be more focused on his subject of demand instead on the little screen on his camera.
And your model will not run up to you, after every single pix, and posing starts from the beginning again.

I'm not a big fan of digital cameras. That's why I didn't know that Leica had also omitted the rear screen.
