Can an Olympus T20 flash work on a classic M6?

More specifically, does it have an auto mode that is operated only from the flash and doesn't require TTL?

Yes and yes.

You can use either full output, or 2 automatic modes: with f/4 and with f/8 (at ASA100) (or f5.6 and f/11 at ASA200 etc.).

PS: the sensor is located in the letter "O" of "OLYMPUS" 🙂
