Can I mask a 6x6 negative carrier to 6x4.5? How so?

Hey guys!

I want to print 645 and my school only has 6x6 negative carriers. whats the best/easiest way to mask it to work?

I've simply used firm black cardboard from Staples and cut it to fit the 645. Works surprisingly well ( and 'cuz of my Scotch heritage,it's cheap)...Peter

I modified an Omega 6x6 negative carrier to 6x4.5 for my B22 simply by getting a sheet of black construction paper at the dollar store and scotch taping two strips to make it 6x4.5. It works just fine. Just make sure you reduce the appropriate dimension for the orientation of the negative holder in your enlarger.

I don't remember manually masking my 6x6 negative carrier to print 6x4.5, I must have cropped the exposure area on the paper using the easel blades.
