No - needs to be done by a Contax technician

Is there any technician that can do that in Canada?

not that I know of. you could call around to places that used to sell the gear and see if they still have the capability to do it. My suggestions would be to call up Downtown Camera. There is an older guy who works there (forget his name, if you go in he's a bald [sorry for the generalization here] Asian man) who I've talked to about g series stuff before, he might have an idea.. sorry I can't think of his name.
Aden Camera might also know a place... they still have a TVS digital in store for sale.

My M5s need red dots!
AFAIK, only Kyocera would do the upgrade, which involves a software fix.
Back when I still had my Contax G1, I managed to contact their customer service and bought a brand new manual for my camera... But that was probably in 2002. I'll see if I still have the e-mail and let you know.
BTW, my G1 had the green sticker. Great camera... but once I got into Leicas I simply stopped using it.
EDIT: Sorry, no such luck... I didn't think I would have trashed it... but I must have.

As far as I know, all Kyocera authorized repair centres (there was no Kyocera owned Contax repair service except in Japan - repair had been outsourced at least by the nineties) did the upgrades, and quite a few of them still do.
TOCAD in the US can do this for about $40. It's a firmware update AFAIK. It's not needed unless you want to use the 21 and 35mm lenses.

Thank you very much for the information. Are you talking about Toronto? I would chose Canada to do that otherwise it does not justify the shipping bla bla...I may want to use 21mm...
