I have been offerd a IIa in black.
Where there realy such?
In any specific number serie?
Have anyone seen one?

Many Qs but price asked is stiff.

Any information would be tankfully used.

It is almost sure that very few pieces of the Contax (of the II model) have been issued with a black finish, but a IIa should have been a privately-modified piece (I have a kitsch, gilt, IIa).

Ask the seller some pictures of the piece, so that some experienced collector here, could give some good advise.

As a boy I read in a 50s prospekt that they could be orderd in dark grey, but I have never seen any information of factory black IIa and IIIa.

I have got the photos and to me it looks like an amaturejob, not up to Zeiss standard so I have turned the offer down.

No literature I have mentions even a single legitimate black IIa or IIIa.
