Lets say you have a old Kodak with no coating or maybe a low tech coating, can you send those lenses out to be recoated or is there possibly a coating kit that can be performed DIY?
Can uncoated or old tech coated lenses be sent out for new coatings?

Lens coating is highly technical. It involves putting a very thin layer of something (flourine?) on the lens in a heated vacuum chamber. Definitely not DYI. John at Focal Point has done this for me on a lens with a damaged coating. Link is here;

no connection other than as a satisfied customer. Note, this service is for single-coating a lens. I don't know of anyone who multi-coats lenses as an aftermarket service (although others may). I suspect it would be cost prohibitive for a photographer like me.

Someone in the FSU was doing coating for a very low cost. Then it stopped being offered.

Focal Point did my 'cron-DR. I am entirely happy with the results. Not cheap, but neither is a replacement DR. This process involves disassembling the lens and polishing the element(s) to be coated. Realistically this option is for expensive lenses that are worth the investment.

Focal Point recoated a fellow RFF member's 21mm Super Angulon before I purchased it and the job that John did was second to none. Fantastic coating work and the lens was like or even better than new after all was said and done. The price is pretty high though. I was in contact with John at FP maybe a year or so ago about having a lens polished then recoated and at the time it was simply prohibitive so the lens was sold and I moved on.

+1 for Focal Point. John recoated my 5 cm Summarit, and gave a Collapsible Cron a second life. First class work is never cheap.
