Can You Explain It?

I sent a 35f1.2 Nokton to Cameraquest for repair after dropping it. When it came back the focusing did not work correctly when combined with my M5. I then sent both M5 and 35f1.2 back to Cameraquest who called yesterday and said focusing cam on M5 is messed up.

Have six other M mount lenses and they all work with M5. All lenses including 35f1.2 work with MP240 and focus verified by live view. Plan is to send 35f1.2 and M5 to Sherry for repair.

I am not doubting Cameraquest's diagnosis but wondering why all my other lenses work OK with M5.

The roller cam, if not perpendicular to the lens mount, can cause focusing errors depending on the lens.

Seems very plausible that the M5s roller cam causes the issues.
